Jeju Island

Jeju Located at south most of  South Korea

Jeju Island located at southern part of South Korea. Generally, the temperature is slightly higher than Seoul. Autumn in Korea started in September and end in November. In end of September we had a temperature ranging from 18-24’C. Cardigan and thin jacket  with T shirt will do during this time.
Size of the Island is around 977 km2, ( Langkawi Island  477 km2). In the city, we can see the low and medium rise building, generally 3-4 storey building. Few high rise building is located at beach and golf resort.
The best time to visit jeju is from November to February, where temperature is cool and dry between 10-18’C.
Reasonable quite an easy traffic, just mild congestion around city centre. Otherwise, driving in Jeju is quite manageable for foreigner. Jeju practices a left sided driver. Get your international License at your own country eg JPJ Malaysia, and you can drive in Jeju.
Renting a car in Jeju, Various company to choose from. We used lotte car rental, A Kia SantaFe , 7 seaters for around RM1200 including insurance for 5 days. This was made earlier, through online booking before we arrived in Jeju.

Day 1

Early flight from Kuala Lumpur direct to Jeju on Air Asia X. The journey took around 6 hours. 0650 hrs from KL, and landed in Jeju International Airport around 2pm(Korean Times), which is 1 hour ahead of KL.
As instructed by the car rental agent, we took a shuttle bus from Jeju Airport to Lotte Car Rent, which is less than 10 minutes journey and collected our car. Equipped with navigation system which was very helpful.
Drove the car, to Jeju City centre, where our Guest house was located, checked in and we made our first journey. For an early dinner, the signature dish of Jeju black pork BBQ. It was a great dish. All the menu served will be served together with Korean condiments eg Kimchi, raddish, fermented vegetable, black bean.

Day 2
Breakfast at Yeha Guest House

After breakfast at Guest house, we started our journey to Seongsan Ilchilbong. One of the 7 wonder of the world UNESCO heritage. Walked up the hill for about 500 mtres and enjoyed the astonishing view of the sea and cliff. Udo Island can be seen at here is the jetty for ferry to take people to Udo Island.
Entrance Fees for adult is around 2000 KW ( around RM 7), you can spend as long time as you could. But due to quite a sunny and hot day, spent around 1 hour taking picture at the cliff and did not take a longer trail to the higher level of the Mountain.

Stretch of Korean clothing and Korean cosmetics and skincare shops
At the end of the Underground shopping  exit is a way to the Jeju Market or Donmoeung Market. Generally hallabong tarts, green teas, dried seafood is much cheaper here compare to airport. A good souvenirs to bring back home.

It was a pleasant flight home. The Air Asia Flight was on time. Slightly bumpy after about 1 hour after took off. Otherwise generally good and comfortable flight with good selection of on board meal. The journey took 6 hours and landed at KLIA2 around 8pm( Msia Time/ 9pm Korean Time).
Our trip was very relax and non packed itineraries, we started our journey everyday around 9am. We covered probably less than half of main attraction in Jeju. But it is very meaningful taste of Jeju Hospitality.
We  had a great travel buddies.. our professional international driving licence drive(Jenny), Soy, Ana and last but not least little Tya that made our trip more cheerful and lively.

Goodbye Jeju. Annyeong Jeju-si.
