It’s a most wonderful time of the year. When winter come and year end come, one of the best trip is to Europe.
This year marked my 10th trip to London. The trip was short-planned. Estimated 3 weeks prior to the trip date. Due to short plnning. Air flight ticket was more pricey. The usual flight that I used to take. Kuala-London Heathrow return ticket was around rm6000 plus. I decided to use a transit flight ie Qatar Air, Emirates or Etihad. I chose Emirates Airlines, and this was my first trip on Emirates airline. I was so lucky , my Kuala Lumpur to Dubai flight was upgraded to Business Class seat. The service was excellent and the food was great. Emirates Airlines landed at Terminal 3 (LHR), unlike Malaysia Airlines at Terminal 4.
Arrived at London around 12.30 noon, after immigration clearance, I topped up my Oysters Card ( GBP50) at the airport and taking underground Picadilly Line direct to King’s cross station. Putting up at Kabannas (previously YHA St pancras). Perfectly located at Euston Road.
After fast checked in for accomodation, I went for a sunset cocktail at London Sky Garden at Fenchurch Street. Free entrance, but limited entry in one day. Bus ride from King Cross was around half an hour. Managed to reached Sky Garden before sunset. Sunset in Winter was round 3.45pm. The weather was great that day. The sky was blue and sunset was great.

Day 2.
Today, my travel buddy arrived. We went sight seeing around London. Light and easy walking around Regent’s street, Oxfort street, Big Ben, London Eye, Trafalgar square.

Brunch at Angus Steak House and Dinner at John Lewis Oxford Street.
Day 3.
Today we have a trip to another European Country. Yeah , we were heading to Amsterdam, Nederland.
Few options of travelling mode from London - Amsterdam;
I. Eurostar 2. Flight 3. Bus. Eurostar was our first option, which depart from King Cross to Amsterdam Centrum. It will be 5 hours Trip. Due to last minutes booking, the Eurostar ticket was quite expensive ( around 200-300 GBP). Booking early, may get price around 100 GBP return)
We chose to take Holland National Carrier (KLM) from London- Amsterdam, around MYR 800,return ticket.
Went we landed at Amsterdam Schipol Airport, special fast track imigration for Malaysia passport holder.
Schipol Airport is recognized as one of the busiest airport in the world.
From Schipol ariport, we took train ( around 5,50 Euro) to Amsterdam Centrum.
Arrived at Amsterdam city ( Centrum ), we were amazed with city was water and canal everywhere.
It is indeed a so beautiful city.
Walked to Foodhallen at Amsterdam for dinner. Great ambience.
Our hotel was centrally located. Just opposite the Amsterdam Central. ( Hotel Multatuli )
It was freezing cold in Amsterdam, with sleek of snow at night.

Day 4 ( Sunday)
We had hotel breakfast, quite decent food in the morning. Then went for Sunday Holy Mass at St Nicholas Basilica. The mass was in Dutch. Coffee Break near the Basilica. Walked to Rijkmuseum and around Amsterdam. Watching canal cruise. Lunch at our favourite Wagamame, near Hard Rock Amsterdam. We had souvenirs shopping along the way.

After city walk, back to hotel and strolled along the city to Damrak and dinner at pub nearby. Wonder Lounge pub.

Day 5
Today last day in Amsterdam, flight 3.00pm to LHR. We had simple lunch at the airport Burger King Schipol Airport. Something worth to buy from Holland, ie cheese and Stroopwafel ( Dutch Biscuit). We arrived in London in the evening, and went for Asian food at Chinatown. We had delicious Vietnamese food.
Day 6
Today we had a long event, a day at Winter Wonderland, Hyde Park. One of the best activities during Winter in London. We had sight seeing around Westminster Abbey, Cathedral. And Attended daily mass around 12 noon.
Lunch at BIll’s Victoria, another great steak house before heading to hyde Park.
We arrived at Hyde Park around 3.00pm, thorough check at the entry to the park, selfie stick was not allowed.
We boooked and pre purchased entrance ticket and few other activities and games in the park.
We decided to experience Ice Bar, Bar with fully iced with Cocktail. Giant wheels (Ferries wheel). We enjoyed so much food and drinks and performances at the Bavarian House.
Damned cold night, it called it at day around 10pm, and back to hotel.

Day 7
This morning, I was quite free, just strolling along UCL, Buckingham Palace and Covent Garden for phototaking. In the afternoon, I booked at a Thetere LIon King at Lyceum theaetre, West End. This is another activities that I enjoyed so much in London. Pre purchased ticket online was more priced worth.
Dinner fish n chips at Euston Flyer. Just around hotel at King’s Cross. That’s up, until we called it a day.

Day 8
Today will be my travelling day back home. My flight departure was at 8.00pm
Having relaxing morning, coffee at Gregg Coffee, King’s Cross. Quick train to China town for Buffet Lunch.
Around 3pm, heading back to London heathrow Airport. Emirate was at Terminal 3. there was no Plaza Premium at this airport. I just relaxing at the departure hall, until flight departure.

That ‘s all about my winter trip to Europe in 2023. I wish to come back to Amsterdam, to visit Zaanse schans and the Tulip season. Ciao
